Biography
Polly Fonic was formed in Blacksburg, VA, in 2001. The band enjoyed local success for several years, culminating with the release of an EP and later a limited-release studio album (For All These Things).
Originally comprised of members Stephanie McMillen, Dan Reisbick, Sonny Ratcliff, Karanja Burke and Forrest Hollandsworth , Polly Fonic was originally formed to cut one track for an upcoming tribute album to shoegaze legends Catherine Wheel.
After several personnel changes (most notably the addition of bass player Eric Tignor), the band recorded an EP and full-length album, which were distributed locally at shows. After the departure of Ratcliff and Hollandsworth, and the addition of drummer Marvin Jones, Polly Fonic continued to play live shows through mid-2005. The band went on extended hiatus in 2005. Though Polly Fonic has played one highly-publicized and well-attended reunion show, most members have moved on to other projects.
