Biography
Riihimäki, Finland (1993 - present)
The origins of PPRY can be dated back to 1993 when the fellows Mika Koskela, Janne Rinnet & Tuukka Uskali met on the math lab and shared the same interest in artificial humour and music. Within a year they were already rehearsing in a damp room in the high-school basement with their friend, Petri Ahola playing lead guitars. During that time PPRY had three guitar players and one drummer. Of course that didn't work and eventually they had to decide who got to play the guitar and who had to play keyboards and bass. Thus the current line-up formed with Koskela for drums, Ahola guitars, Rinnet bass and Uskali keyboards.
The first ever PPRY album, Project Forest was released in 2000 with K.Hannonen and H.Warro for additional vocals. Project Forest was only available for a short period directly from the band.
In 2002 PPRY finished their second album under a temporary band name, Project:. The second album, called <<name stolen>> was a concept album covering a story of a simple thief called Terl in the dark ages of magick and machinery. Finally released by the italian label Mellow Records in 2005 the album featured K.Hannonen in additional vocals and A.Salomaa as the voice of Terl.
November 2008 marks the release date of the third PPRY album, Raising the Skeletons of Fire by Hand. The album, released by the french distributor, Musea Records is a concept album which tells what really happened in Sarajevo in 1914, when the archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated according to PPRY department of research and study. Along with the traditional line-up, Raising the Skeletons of Fire featured Sami Auranen for additional vocals.
