Biography
Princess Idiot is an alternative-rock band from Athens, Georgia (the eclectic college town with a vibrant music scene, home to R.E.M., the B-52's and others). Their debut album, 'Perfect', is self-produced, self-released and was recorded in the frenzy of one busy weekend. All 11 tracks were written and created during practice sessions in the drummer's basement over the course of the band's first year together. The album was recorded as an attempt to capture the sound of the band in the moment as they were developing.
Their unique sound can be described as guitar-driven, punk-inspired, and rock-infused. Their song structures are simple but can often weave through changing tempos and odd time signatures. Lyrics focus on feelings of distrust, dishonesty, uncertainty and longing juxtaposed with a front of self-promotion, self-preservation and delusion. The band continues to play shows in and around Athens with Atlanta-area shows on the horizon.
Influences include: Primus, Tool, The Breeders, The Ramones, Faith No More, David Bowie.
