There is more than one Artist that goes by the name Pumpa.
1. Dennis Liburd was born in St. Kitts and later on moved to St. Croix, US Virgin Islands when he was very young, he attended and later on graduated from the St. Croix, Central High School where he earned the nickname Pumpa due to his athletic abilities. In 2003, Liburd joined with fellow musicians from St. Croix to form the soca group Xtaushaun Band.
2. Plzeňská skupina Pumpa vznikla v roce 1981. Hrají jižanský rock ve stylu např.Lynyrd Skynyrd, AC/DC, Steppenwolf nebo Krokus. Písně hrají vesměs svoje. Skupinou prošla celá řádka muzikantů, nyní hraje ve složení: Michal Němeček - kytary, Zdeněk Jakubec - zpěv, housle, Pavel Marcel - kytary, klávesy, Milan Lebeda - baskytara, Roman Krajdl - bicí.
