This album was paid dust and deserves way more recognition cause it's actually a masterpiece. Quite impressive to release this as your first record. I hope Roisin will exploit it in the future, re-release it as an LP, it's currently nowhere to find. Ruby Blue deserves it.

I think people are exaggerating a little here! Sure, some moments reach creative heights that Overpowered doesn't reach. However I feel Overpowered also has less dull points than this, and Overpowered is the better all rounder.. both great albums though! :-)

Certainly her most cohesive album. Matthew Herbert is a extremely talented producer/musician.

Funny, I'm coming to say that I think Overpowered is better! :D For sure the two albums are very different. Though I still like Ruby Blue (Ramalama makes me dance and jum all over the place), on Overpowered are songs I'm really in love with :P <3 Róisín, please, give us more crazy music :P

i cannot believe this has been described as 'boring' however, i do understand it may be difficult to get into. I love 'Overpowered' but 'Ruby Blue' just remains my fave because it was something so different to me at the time. The whole album reminds me of machines in a factory going wild with the random noises and machine like beats, i really love this album. Really got me into Roisin more as i didn't really know much of Moloko's stuff then.

boring album... overpowered is best far danceable and one truly authentic masterpiece

A more rewarding album than Overpowered, which is, of course, more instantly likeable. Really beautiful songcraft and creativity oozing out of every note and sound.
