Biography
Raf21 is the organic ambient project of Paris-based artist Raphaël Beaudon, whose nature-infused compositions blend classical instrumentation with atmospheric field recordings to create deeply immersive sonic environments. Drawing from over two decades of experience as a classical flautist, Beaudon infuses his music with the harmonic elegance of composers like Ravel and Debussy while channelling the melodic sensibilities of pop icons such as Paul McCartney.
Each track begins with a field recording—a rustling forest, a flowing river, or a birdsong captured during his travels—serving as both inspiration and foundation. Carefully layered with acoustic and orchestral textures, these nature sounds are not ornamental but integral, anchoring Raf21’s work firmly within the organic ambient genre. His pieces resonate with themes of wellbeing, introspection, and self-care, often described as ambient music with nature sounds or nature-infused ambient.
Signed to Signal Alchemy, the Canadian label specialising in organic ambient music, Raf21 has cultivated a devoted global audience. As of May 2025, he has over 162,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and more than 23,000 followers. His compositions have been featured on numerous curated playlists that spotlight ambient music with gentle natural textures, meditative pacing, and slow-evolving dynamics.
Standout works include Water Therapy, which has surpassed a million streams, and the award-winning album Dream Among Nature. Raf21’s versatility extends to theatre scoring as well—his theme Ambiance Mystère, composed for the soundtrack of Huit Femmes, became a viral TikTok hit with over 20 million views. This ability to evoke narrative and emotional nuance has made him a sought-after collaborator within the ambient and contemporary classical communities.
At the heart of Raf21’s music lies his personal philosophy of Self Empathy—the belief that music can serve as a gentle mirror and healing balm for the inner self. His upcoming works continue this journey of reflection, memory, and place, offering listeners not just a soundscape, but an invitation to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the natural world.
