RENGEKI is a Japanese band from Tokyo that has been active since 2023. They are part of the and subgenres. The band was formed by former members of AQULOCIELA (アクロシエラ), including vocalist Kazumi, guitarist Ryu, and bassist Suu. Their lineup was later completed by guitarist Nimo and support drummer Ryo, who joined on November 27, 2023.

Before forming RENGEKI, the members had played in the symphonic metalcore band Revival of the Era. After their disbanded, they transitioned to AQULOCIELA, a project that explored a different, poppier sound. However, this stylistic shift led to internal struggles for the members, especially Kazumi, who found it difficult to adapt from guitarist to vocalist. This ultimately triggered a desire to return to heavier, darker music, leading to the formation of RENGEKI.

On September 23, 2023, during AQULOCIELA's first-anniversary oneman live at Shibuya REX, the band announced their rebranding to RENGEKI, which they framed as a "rebirth" rather than just a name change. This transformation symbolized a complete departure from AQULOCIELA's style, embracing a more aggressive, metalcore sound, reminiscent of their earlier work with ROTE.

Their debut single TENSEI (転生, "Rebirth") was released on October 30, 2023. The song marked their shift back to a heavier, symphonic metal sound. The lyrics of TENSEI reflected Kazumi's personal and artistic journey, describing the struggle of not feeling true to himself during AQULOCIELA's era and his emotional rebirth with RENGEKI.

On November 28, 2023, RENGEKI held their first oneman live at Asakusa VAMPKIN in Tokyo, coinciding with the release of their maxi-single Origin. The title track, which highlighted the band’s goal of transforming negative emotions into positive futures, served as a foundational statement for RENGEKI's mission. The song Origin was inspired by the concept of personal growth, drawing on anime influences, particularly My Hero Academia.

The band released their music video for Origin on August 12, 2024. This was a significant milestone, as it marked Kazumi's debut as a director. The shoot itself was a collaborative effort, involving close friends and fans, making it a deeply personal project for the band.

RENGEKI has since released seven singles in 2024, and plans to release their debut album titled NEOVISION on November 23, 2024.
