Biography
Rachel Rose, Connecticut-born, Austin-launched, and Brooklyn-based soul singer/songwriter, draws influence from the greats Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, Alanis Morisette, Linda Ronstadt, Brandi Carlile, and more. She has firmly established herself as a powerful vocalist with a deeply rich, unique voice, and nostalgic sound.
Hailing from Connecticut, Rachel began her vocal career in 2007 by first performing cover songs on YouTube and participating in choir ensembles. In 2014, she decided to pursue her musical calling and move to Austin, Texas. While attending University, she worked as A&R and Content Creator for a local business, On Vinyl Media, and became a member of Ensemble 109, alongside members Jon Cozart and Daniel Sahad of Nané. Rachel's senior year, she formed her own band and performed at SXSW parties, Spiderhouse, Hole in the Wall, The Cactus Cafe, and Cheer Up Charlies.
In 2018, she moved back to the east coast and settled in Brooklyn, New York, where she took up a position at TuneCore. While working her 9 to 5 job, she would spend her off-hours songwriting and producing. She completed her debut EP in March, despite quarantine, and her first project, 100/10/1, was released on September 7th, 2020. The EP has over 90k streams on DSPs, and her “You” and “How Does It Feel” Music videos have garnered over 60k streams.
Since her EP release, Rachel has packed out notable venues such as Mercury Lounge, Rockwood Music Hall, Baby’s All Right, Nublu, and more. She was one of three selected songwriters to open the Hootenanny Sessions at Cafe Wha? after a nearly 50-year hiatus. She performed as a featured artist at SXSW and performed a 3-month residency at one of New York’s most historic venues, The Bitter End.
She has received recognition from Lefuturewave, Grandma Sophia's Cookies, KPISS, Brooklyn Free Radio, Now What??, When The Horn Blows, WPKN, WFUV, and Radio Rehoboth. She was also a selected artist on NPR’s Tiny Desk Top Shelf Segment (securing the top 36 out of 6,000+ submissions).
Rachel has won multiple sync deals, including Rice-A-Roni’s latest branding campaign, a Christmas commercial for David Jones, and HBO Max’s latest documentary “LFG”.
