Biography
An 8-time prize-winner in international music competitions, Randall Avers began playing guitar at the age of 6. He studied in music schools around the United States, France and Norway including the Oberlin Conservatory (BM) the University of Arizona (MM). the Conservatoire Nationale Superiere de Musique et de Danse in Paris (1ere prix de guitare et musique de chambre) and the Norges Musikkhøgskole.
Latin Grammy nominee Sergio Assad calls Avers "one of the most impressive artists I have come across", and the prominent Egyptian playwright Mohammed Salmawy wrote upon hearing Avers during an US Artistic Ambassadorial tour to Egypt "he pours his heart into his performance without ever losing control…I have never heard such a perfect balance between technical perfection and artistic expression."
Avers resides in Norway and teaches at the Bergen Kulturskole. He appears regularly at festivals and in concert series in North America and Europe and is a performing faculty at the Classical Minds Festival in Houston and the Bergen International Guitar Festival in Norway.
