Biography
Red Camp (1909-1987) was a well known jazz pianist in Texas, having played with Bob Crosby, Jack Teagarden, Paul Whitman, Mugsy Spanier, Miff Mole, and Pee Wee Russell. “Red” had his own TV and radio program in the 70’s where he taught jazz history and technique, and his 11 LPs can be found on the Smithsonian web site in the FolkWays collection
Red Camp was heavily influenced by Earl Hines
