Biography
Hails from the warmer climates of Johannesburg South Africa, born to Portuguese Parents in 1982. His Love for music began at a tender age of thirteen when he was introduced to the guitar and Artists such as Jimi Hendrix and the Doors in time his musical taste and mind expanded where he became engrossed by artists like Portishead, Massive attack and Everything but the girl, then in the summer of 96’ he randomly stumbled across B Random and that’s where my Journey of Dance music began.
At this point he started listening to Dj’s and producers such as Deep Dish, Laurent Garnier, G Pal and many more.
By 98’ he laid his hands on a set of 1210’s and started dj’ing and soon after began throwing underground warehouse Parties on the outskirts of Joburg with a dj collective called “Deep in touch” where the boundaries were constantly pushed by his love for music and the ever growing and changing scene in time he became more and more influenced by the tec house scene rising in the uk , through artists and labels such as Swag Records, Get fuct and Terry Francis,
By 2000 he began learning how to produce through various manuals and help from friends.
In 2001 he got itchy feet and moved to London, where he continued learning more about production and pursuing his ambition playing in various bars and clubs in south London such as telegraph and Plan B. In 2004 he began promoting and djing at parties in East London at a host of clubs and bars including Jam, traffic and many more.
The movement of his influences created a shift in style and hence his love of minimal began.
In time an amazing concept was born, with four people and one vision and Richie Lopes joined Codekontrol saw the reason why he was placed on this amazing and ever changing creatively engrossed planet.
