Rides In ReVellion was a Japanese visual kei band from Kansai, formed in 2015 by former members of Black September. At the time of disbandment, the band consisted of vocalist Kuro (黎), guitarists Tsubaki (椿) and TaJI, bassist Nagisa (渚), and drummer Shiyu (志雄). The disbandment was announced at the end of 2024, scheduled for March 2025, prior to their 10th anniversary. The disbandment was attributed to a variety of reasons, including disagreements among the band members in regards to their future direction, lack of popularity, difficulty in building a significant fan base after almost a decade of work, and general frustrations after a tumultuous period oscillating between being independent and signing with a label.
Rides In ReVellion was formed in July 2014 after the loud kei band Black September disbanded. All members except one went on to form the band, with the founding members being vocalist Kuro (黎), guitarist TaJI, drummer Ame (飴) and support bassist Komatsu (小松). Guitarist Tsubaki (椿) officially joined the band in 2019, and Shiyu became a full member as the band's drummer in March 2023 after Ame left. The band name came from TaJI, who explained the name was a rephrasing of "rise in rebellion", but the the B in “rebellion” was changed to a V to represent visual kei, and “rise” had been changed to “rides” with the hope that people would "ride their wave".
Rides In ReVellion released their first demo titled Rosé / MIRAGE-toxical love story- in April, 2015, and made their live debut on May 13, 2015 at Nanba ROCKETS. Bassist Nagisa joined as an official member in July 2015, even before leaving his former band UnRealistic, and shortly before Rides In ReVellion's first official single "-CHAIN-" was released on August 2, 2015. Over the years, the band released multiple singles and performed at numerous events, including Anime USA in October 2016, marking their debut performance abroad. In October 2016, they also uploaded a cover of Rusty Nail by X JAPAN on their YouTube page, and continued to upload several covers of songs from other Japanese artists throughout the years, including Dir en grey, LiSA, YOASOBI, the GazettE and LUNA SEA.
