It's terrifying to think this album is now old enough to legally drink in the US... And also really weird that, by now, it's not universally acknowledged as one of the greatest musical and lyrical achievements of the 00s because Goddamn, this is a shot of the good stuff. Beautiful and vicious and dark and brilliant.

Crazy that this isn’t spoken about among the big records from the 2000’s indie rock scene, the way albums like Is This It and Turn On the Bright Lines are. Not that those aren’t great albums too but The Execution of All Things is better them than both (just a testament to how good this album is). Nothing else that that sounds like it.

It was raining really hard yesterday and I had the sudden urge to listen to this album. I fell in love all over again. There isn't a single bad song on here.

Finally starting to see it's pretty much perfect. With Arms Outstretched, A Better Son/Daughter and the title track are so good.
