“toxic till the end” is the second single from ROSÉ’s first studio album, rosie. It was first teased through her album global listening parties all over the world on December 4.
Lyrically, ROSÉ shares her feelings about her love-hate relationship, saying that even though she hated her ex for doing unforgivable things, she still wanted to go back into that toxic relationship.
Initially the song was called “the x” when it was written, as she revealed on Zane Lowe Show:
That song was actually supposed to be called “the x.” We started writing it being like, 'Oh, my God, it's about time, we've talked about the ex a bit too much, it's about time that we write a song called the x,' but then we came up with a better punchline so we put it in that section where like, I need to talk about it.
