Biography
Ruhr Hunter is one of the musical projects of American Chet W. Scott, composer, private sound engineer and producer, where he makes ritual ambient music with acoustic and folk influences since 1993. Born in the year of 1974, in West Palm Beach Florida, and raised from the age of four in the cold north of Maine.
Chet started his solo career under the moniker of Torn of This. Chet's early compositions with this initial vision, fused unique and beautiful blends of melancholic dark folk, into his own instrumental electric and acoustic bass guitar pieces. Unfortunately the works of Torn of This were never published. However now more than ever, the undying spirit, original style and heartfelt passion of Torn of This, still germinates and inspires throughout Chet's audible paintings… known today as Ruhr Hunter. The music is heavily inspired by nature and spiritual communion with the surroundings.
Chet's wife Rachel is responsible for much of the visual artistic representation of Ruhr Hunter.
