Hearing some of the greatest musicians in rock history go hard like this for 9 minutes never gets old!

When my dad discovered YouTube back in the late 00s, the first thing he did was listen to hours of live performances of this, his favorite Rush song of all time. I miss you, Dad. Hope you're jamming with Neil Peart wherever you are now!

I've been going down the rabbit hole of Lerxsist rants from various performances of Strangiato, and I must say it's a good place to be.

These guys not only knew how compose a great song, but the arrangements by all three of them are incredible, not to mention the musicianship. Three virtuoso musicians at the height of their powers, here. Alex Lifeson is a BEAST!

YYZ is of course their most popular instrumental, and it’s probably also their best, but this can’t be more than a few inches behind. I might be inclined to consider them equals if not for the fact that YYZ is just so insanely catchy. This is catchy too, but not quite as much. YYZ is probably the catchiest song they ever wrote.

Whether or not you’re a fan, it’s hard to argue with Rush's precision, musicianship and talent. As the band’s first completely instrumental track, the almost-ten-minute piece consists of over ten different parts and uses instruments like guitar, string synthesizer, bass and drums – which makes it ambitious, exciting and complex. -- watchmojo
