Biography

Jordi Zindel and Carla Valverde are two Mexican multi-instrumentalists who started this project in 2016 after being invited to perform at Leonor, CDMX. After an "Improvisation" - as they defined the show that night - they realised they had something very special in their hands.

But it wasn't until after opening for Rhye at Teatro Angela Peralta in 2017 that Self Sabotage realised that everything was flowing very fast; they knew they had to make music and release something official, which is why they produced their first EP Skin And Bones (2017).

After performing at the Vaivén Festival 2019, the duo released their first full-length album: Visums (2019). An album that in nine tracks shows us an energetic fusion of sounds and - as the name suggests - represents a musical universe without barriers.

Under the premise of taking this project to international scenes, Self Sabotage has not only fused different musical genres such as electronica, jazz and alternative rock, but has also chosen to tackle two languages they feel comfortable with.

Although they are big fans of bands like Gorillaz, Radiohead and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, they don't try to sound like them, they simply see them as an inspiration from what they have listened to throughout their lives in order to create a new concept.
