Biography
SLurg is an French DJ / producer, mad record and magazine collector, journalist and radiohost.
In 1986 his cousin hands him his first hip-hop tapes (Licensed To Ill and Raising Hell). By 1990 he started his first radio show on Radio Pomme, called We Love. SLurg starts to interview french bands (I Am, Assassin, Solaar, Sté, Sage Poetes De La Rue, Les Littles, Fabe, Koma…). The show aired until 1997 when Radio Pomme went bankrupt.
In 1994 SLurg starts to craft beats on a crappy computer. Two years later he starts a series of mixtapes. The next year he hosts a radio show on HDR in Rouen with Bachir & Moda, called Keep It Fake. Then After collecting records for more than ten years, SLurg realizes it's time to invest in a turntable and a mixer. Still with Moda & Bachir they switched the shows name to Tout Droit Réservé.
From 1998 untill 2000 they're still on HDR. Bachir and SLurg also do another show (Think Twice) on RC2, a lousy station but with a better signal! In 1999 Fabe asks SLurg to make a mix every two weeks for his radio show on Generation in Paris.
SLurg moved to Paris in 2000 to slave for a PR company. That's when he started to do a million things…
In September 2005 SLurg released the mixtape "Rap Cats" in partnership with HipHopCore.net. The album speaks for itself with 14 year of radio- and 25 years of mixtape experience.
Last January SLurg couldn't resist to make a new mixtape, "SLurg Lesson 3".
"I haven't done an indie rap mix in a long time, so I figured since the genre is so popular in the blog world I could do another one. 75 minutes of indie rap from the mid to late 90's, from LA, New York, Australia and Europe. Enjoy." SLurg says on his blog.
