South Acid Mimi Dance Team (written in Chinese as "南方酸性咪咪"), identified as an electronic trio in the capital city of China’s southern Yunnan province; Kunming. The team consists of the three synthesizers by the names of Shī Shī (施施/施议童), Yī Xiào (王一笑) and 00 (威林 - assumed name) whom had each formed the band after dropping out in 11th grade. The trio had started as a drunk-band, making music wasted after Shī had finished a shift at a small music store she owned called Ài Bǎi Huò (爱百货). The three signed to a label after being approached by two people from Beijing label Ruby Eyes Records and have released 1 album and 4 singles since the record and 16 songs independently.
Before what came South Acid Mimi was a short lived punk band under the name "Xǐ er (喜儿)" which was made during 2014 until 2015 which is when the name and band "South Acid Mimi Dance Team" was created.
The band have been active since 2014 releasing Chinese indie electronic music described as "alluring dance punk that’s sometimes loud, always unapologetic and unconcerned with genre and lineage" and as their first major release has just under 5,000 listeners on youtube with the band reaching an upmost of 270 monthly listeners and 726 followers on Spotify as of 26/05/2022 with their latest release being released in 2020
