S. P Balasubramaniam is a legendary playback singer from South India. He has sang in almost all Indian languages and has a huge fanbase and following especially in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. In Bollywood, he is most famous for his songs in early Salman Khan movies like Maine Pyar Kiya and Hum Apke He Kaun
He was born as Sripathi Panditaradhyula Balasubramaniam into an orthodox Saivite brahmin family on June 4, 1946 in Konetammapeta in the Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh . He is the second son in a large family of three sons and five daughters. His father SP Sambamurthy was a well-known exponent of Harikatha and his sister SP Shailaja is a former actress-singer in Telugu.
