Carlos Alfredo Paravís better known as Santiago Salaverry Chalar (September 25, 1938, Montevideo - November 21, 1994) was an orthopedic physician, poet, composer, musician, singer and Uruguay. Alternated medical studies on the guitar. The pseudonym James is chosen in honor of a friend died in a plane crash and Chalar by the name of their ancestors. Achieved in his career won numerous awards, platinum and gold records.
