I bought this at the time because I was really into Mira Calix, Autechre, Aphex Twin and so on, and was a little disappointed. Listening to it again, I realise that (a) I didn't have the musical experience to appreciate it at the time (I've listened to a lot of postrock and krautrock since then) and (b) it has aged a lot better than most of its contemporaries.

Nah, the similarities in artwork could pretty obviously be put down to the prevailing trends at tDR, but its just as likely that neither is true :P The cover of Panasonic's Aaltopiiri is also largely just a maroon field; maybe they were aping Seefeel, aping Autechre? Spurious! The catalogue numbers of Succour and Tri Repetae are 28 and 38 respectively; what does that suggest? :P The equipment being used probably accounts for some of the similarities, but the sound developing on Succour is patently Mark Clifford's, one that he expanded upon with Disjecta.

By this time they're pretty obviously aping Autechre (even down to the minimalist cover art). But doing a fairly good job of it.
