Chameleonic, dynamic, absorbing. Shaka Lion is a wandering spirit in a constantly revolving state of change, an artist who mixes music with life experience in equal parts. Born in Brazil, raised in Barreiro and embraced by Lisbon, his travels and performances around the world have led to appearances on London’s Rinse FM and releases on Los Angeles label Soulection. His short career so far is remarkable: he’s currently a resident at Lisbon clubs MusicBox and Lux Frágil, has curated Lisbon’s Iminente Festival of urban culture and has collaborated with American rap producer Sango and rapper Smino.
Shaka Lion is rhythm and joy, midnight sun and ballet during a siesta. He’s both what you hear and what you see.
