Biography
Shanae is an Australian-born South African artist who started her professional musical journey by putting out tracks just before the pandemic, making an enormous impact in the Australian R&B scene by releasing songs produced by local producers including Willstah (Ella Mai, ONEFOUR) and Rory Noble (Burna Boy, Kanye West, Ruel). Her deep connection to gospel music and Capetonian jazz, which were musical staples in her household growing up, mixed with her love for neo-soul and R&B, saw Shanae’s floaty soulful vocals and thoughtful lyrics glide effortlessly over the production. This journey of self-discovery has led to Shanae experimenting in the studio, exploring the sounds of jazz, electronic, amapiano, and jersey club to create a sound uniquely her own.
