Biography

After Los Pordioseros disbanded, members Francisco Pesado (drums/samples/keyboard), Hernán Benegas (bass) and Tato Vega (vocals) formed the Shocklenders with guitarist Piturro Benassi. Innovators, shameless, and effervescent within the 90's rock scene in Rosario, Argentina, the band left an indelible mark for the music of that city, being precursors in the approach to funk.

Their first two albums were 1995's "¡Cómo me gusta!", which was released on the Mexican label Fonovisa, and 1997's "Shocklenders". Both albums were recorded at Estudios Godzilla in Rosario. They disbanded after travelling to Spain, only to reunite in 2014. Pesado (Francisco SanMartín) had moved to Mexico, Tato Vega to Miami, and Piturro Benassi and Hernán Benegas to Spain. Benassi died on December 5, 2017.
