Biography

shopfront (stylised as all lowercase) are a queer indie rock band originally formed in the small town of Wigan, now based in the heart of Manchester, UK.

Formed in the summer of 2021, shopfront began as a young college band, releasing singles Pick Up Ur Phone and Nostalgia during their first year together.

As they grew older and their sound evolved, they followed up with Maybe This Halloween marking an evolution in their songwriting, and later Lock The Door which solidified their new creative direction.
Now a more mature group as university students, shopfront are currently working toward their debut EP: a self-produced project crafted by lead vocalist Andy Horrocks (also known as class pet), the producer for the band’s discography.

Their music experiments freely with alternative rock, pop-punk, hyper-pop, and shoegaze elements, creating emotionally vulnerable and catchy melodic tracks.

Inspired by artists like Neck Deep, NOAHFINNCE, Cavetown and Bring Me The Horizon by channeling their devotion to creating big, cathartic rock with personal stories or queer experiences.

Over the past few years, they’ve played alongside acts such as Indoor Pets, BroccoliBoy, Belmont And The Stocks, Stanleys, That Old Quiet Lighthouse etc.
continuing to build a reputation in the northern indie scene as a queer voice and music makers for the little guy.
