Biography
Bas Kragt and Matthijs Steur decided to start a musical formation in the beginning of May 2009. The name: Showering Bears.
Bas Kragt was born in February 1991, just 2 months before Matthijs Steur, who was born in April 1991. Bas and Matthijs first met each other at a holiday camp in Breda, The Netherlands, when they were both 8 years old. The kept holding contact eversince which resulted in a great friendship. In 2008 they began to see each other more often and they realised that they were both interested in the same kinds of music. Both Matthijs and Bas already played guitar before, which made the friendship even better. They started playing some songs together.
In April 2009, when Bas and Matthijs almost knew each other for almost 10 years, they planned there first performance. Starting with nothing, they began to play at Queensday in Utrecht on the market. Their earnings: 115 euros. When they played in Utrecht at Queensday, there were already some speculations of the beginning of a band/formation, because all the audience Matthijs and Bas had at Queensday, were really impressed.
The name Showering Bears was a logical result of circumstances. Both Bas as Matthijs were member of a so called bearclub and because Matthijs wrote all the songs after a visit of the shower, Showering Bears was born.
Since the birth of Showering Bears Matthijs and Bas are busy writing their own songs, so they can perform only by playing their own songs in the future.
