Biography
Sika is a Minneapolis band first formed in the fall of 2002. Sika was once described as "Eclectic border jumping indie post-rock ambiguity". Similar in many ways to Muse and Radiohead, they also feature an array of other influences, such as post rock, a distinctive electronic sound in some of their newer songs reminiscent somewhat of Depeche Mode, and will occasionally foray into heavier, synth-rock or industrial metal territory.
Sika has released two four-song EP's, The Phenomenon EP and How To Dream With Your Eyes Open (EP), and one single called Voice. They are currently recording a third EP, which will showcase in part a more electronic feel. They can be found at www.sikaband.com or www.myspace.com/sikaband.
Sika was also the name of a finnish new wave band from Valkeakoski, who released three singles and one full-length album, "Tyttöjä, tyttöjä, tyttöjä". (Discography: http://www.finnmusic.net/main.php?60595a5748077550511253416e13)
