There are two artists with the name Silence Kit:

1. An indie / post-rock band from Moscow, Russia. It formed in April 2002. It was named after the song by Pavement.

Everything started when Andrey Gavrilov (keyboards, ex-guitarist and vocalist of Mosty) and Sergey Bogatov (bass, ex-Squash) joined the britpop Dairy High band (Boris Belov, Grigoriy Alexanyan and Fedor Dmitriev).
In February, 2003 Grigoriy Alexanyan (drums) left the band. Sergei Ledovski from Lumeny replaced him.
At the end of year 2002 the band self-released and distributed for free the debut album Silence kit.
In summer 2003 professional violoncellist Yaroslav Kovalev joined, and Andrey Gavrilov left in autumn.
In May, 2004 the band self-released its second album Pieonear.
During years 2004-2005 SK was mainly in concerts: it opened by its performance first Avant festival, went on tours (Nizhiy Novgorod, Tver, Saint-Petersburg). Perfomed on one scene with Spanish Mus, Czech Ravelin 7 as well as three Russian capitals tour with Britons from Hood as a part of second Avant festival, and being credited on Afisha’s Piknik line-up.
On 5th September of 2005 Yaroslav Kovalev died in an accident. Drummer left the band shortly after.
Nairi Simonyan from Urartu, founder of Figurestatic Music label (who has re-released band’s albums) became new drummer.
The band continued its concert activity and shared the stage with Piano Magic, Red Sparowes, ex-soloist of Skunk Anansie Skin, participated in international Stop The Silence festival with Sounds Like Violence, Tribes Of The City, Punk TV, Soundarcade.
But on “Avant 2007” festivals Sergei Ledovski was a drummer because he has returned to the band. Furthermore "Silence Kit" is quintet again after acquisition of one more guitarist Evgeniy Frankevich ("Placenta", “Secrets Of 3rd Planet”).
The album The Great Red Spot was recorded with the help of Nairi Simonyan.
One of the tracks' demo-version was used as a soundtrack for 1924 cartoon “Interplanetary Revolution”.
Another one which, was not included on the album, was released on the “Avant 2007” compilation.
The CD was released on label Lemonsmellstreet.
