Biography

Silentpanic is an experimental-rock band based in Calgary, Canada, initially formed in 2003. At that time, Silentpanic was a cover band making the rounds of the southern Alberta scene, and making a name for themselves as crowd-pleasers with plenty of stage presence. They went through a few line-up changes before breaking up in 2005.

Silentpanic as an idea refused to go quietly into that goodnight, however, and that idea kept smoldering away on the back burner, like a cigarette butt lost in a couch, until the time was right. The original band members had all gone their separate ways, and vocalist/guitarist Ty found himself fronting another cover band, Audioerotica, for a couple of years. At that time, Ty realized two important things: firstly, that Audioerotica had gone as far as a cover band could go, and secondly, he was beginning to find his own voice as a songwriter, and that voice was ready to be heard! With his good friend Rolly, he began to reform Silentpanic as a side project to Audioerotica.

Early in 2010, Silentpanic stepped out of the shadow of Audioerotica and made its triumphant return, this time as a vehicle for original, electronic-tinged rock. The line-up has (perhaps) finally solidified, with Ty being joined by Kyle on drums and djembe, Eusebio on bass, and Bryan bringing the spacey electronic sounds and guitar.
