Biography
After extensive touring of the UK and USA recently, eclectic Australian pop singer songwriter Simon Astley has returned home to release his new single All Falls Down. Produced by Sam Panetta (Kylie Minogue, Crowded House).
Astley has had some recent success in the UK, with his hit song London played at the Queens Diamond Jubilee outside Buckingham Palace. Due to the response the London song recieved, including over 225,000 hits on youtube, Astley toured the UK for the 2nd time playing shows around the country including the famous Troubadour Venue in London where Adele and Ed Sherrin were discovered. Astley was approached and signed by UK record label Gotham Records whilst on tour, before heading back to Australia to record his album City Lights. The City Lights album was produced by well known Australian singer songstress Monique Brumby in Melbourne, with singles off the album picked up by USA publishing company One ring Publishing in 2013.
Astley toured the USA last year. Whilst in New York he recorded his USA only released single Miracles Begun, with award winning producer Ray Balconis. On his return home he was lucky enough to score the role to be in the Ad for USA popcorn chain Oogies Popcorn. He was also the face of Carlton Draught in their Australian TV ad in the same year.
Astley has recently released the single Temptation through his new Independant Australian label Melodic Music. He is now back in the studio recording new material for an EP release in May 2015.
