Biography
Simon Le Duc , known as the Elder, born in Paris on 15 January 1742 and died in Paris on 22 January 1777 , is a French violinist and composer.
His brother Pierre Le Duc (1755-1818) also made a career as a violinist.
Simon Le Duc was a pupil of Pierre Gavini for the violin. He was a distinguished artist in his time, co-director of the Concert Spiritual alongside François-Joseph Gossec and Pierre Gavini between 1773 and the date of his death.
