Sjako! is a Dutch power rock trio, originally from Haarlem, but now mostly based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Established in 1981, the band released most of their studio output between 1988 and 1997, such as the albums L'amour qui fait…Boum (1989), Secret Skin (1990), Livewire (1993), Once Upon a Revolution (1995) and Note (1997).
They were never as prolific in later years, but never really split up. The band kept recording and performing in various line-ups, on and off, from 1998 until the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in early 2020. After the pandemic the band returned in their most successful, early 1990s line-up: Wouter Planteijdt (guitar, vocals), Thijs Vermeulen (bass, loops) and Jaap J. Vrenegoor (drums).
