Biography
Skarz is a D&B Producer primarily, but states: "I'm into Death Metal, Drum and Bass, and a fair few things inbetween". "My main DnB influences are:
Tantrum Desire; DJ Hazard; Original Sin; Clipz; Taxman; Dub Zero; Tyke and Recipe; GDUB… To name but a few…"
Coming from a musical background Skarz has always had music in his life. For the early part of his life, up until the age of 11, listening to music was the only involvement he had. It wasn't until 2001 that it all changed for him.
Meeting up with an old friend at school and seeing them jump onto a drum kit and start smashing out a drum beat, was the first step for him into becoming more than just a listener of music. From that day Skarz knew that making your own music was definitely the way to get a bigger and better enjoyment out of it, as well as the way to make an impact on people.
All through his life Skarz has been influenced by a wide range of music including: Death Metal, Rock, Indie and all kinds of Electronica and Dance genres. After briefly learning the drums, playing the guitar and producing music at home for fun, he thought it was about time he took at least one of the aspects of music he enjoyed, a bit more seriously. After attending a 2 year Music Technology course at college, Skarz has been not stop producing tracks that have been from all ends of the electronic music spectrum.
As everyone does, Skarz found himself feeling a lot more involved in one genre of music. This was Drum and Bass. After being at college and learning a range of different techniques, and having a wide range of music that influences him, Skarz has been busy producing tracks that are of an ever growing standard of jump up drum and bass. His tracks, often recognised for their pounding drum breaks and interesting use of samples, have been played by a many different DJs from all around the UK.
