Are they done? Sunshine Dust is five years old, wish they released a new album...

From time to time I revisit this album and it's like I'm listening to it for the first time. It's unreal how good Guiding Lights is

I just played a Tesseract song and a Skyharbor song back to back. For a second I thought it was one continuous song with a cool transition 🤣

Lmao... I get that Blinding White Noise's damn good, but Guiding Lights is their best work, by far.

It's an album with some interesting ideas ruined by awful production and too many lullabies. You can barely decipher what the particular instruments are playing and not even at all times. BWN:Illusion is some of the finest material the genre has to offer and Chaos is pretty damn good too. But it's ok, we're entitled to our opinions.

what's wrong with your audio setup?? maybe it's just because I listen to a lot of Grindcore, so my ears are better tuned to pick things out of a muddier production, but I can hear everything crystal clear.

Sunshine Dust is not on Guiding Lights' level, but it's a solid record. Eric Emery did a great job there, but without Dan and Anup, the band is lacking something... Maybe it's that atmospheric vibe. Also, the vocals are too overproduced now.

Not only lacking something, the band is lacking everything. But it would be hard to come up with something like Guiding Lights again, this album is a modern masterpiece.

Im agree, i loved the past two albums especially Guiding Lights, the voice of Dan in the production was more atmospheric, he´s such a great singer. Something that i notice too is the complexity of the Anup Satry drumming, i´m a drummer and it´s blow minding in those albums. Don't get me wrong i waited to much for Sunshine Dust and i love it but i just think Guiding Lighst is better. They are coming to my country México this year with Leprous and Scale the Summit so i´m very exited to see them.

It takes some time to adjust to Eric's voice, but judging by Dim and Dissent, the new album should be pretty good. Instrumentally they still good af

I'm sorry but ever since Dan left this band died. I'm not talking about who is the better singer, but about releases. They had so much potential, Guiding Lights is a masterpiece. I wish they'd release a new album asap.

Dan's voice... how do you do that, man? He's a simple yet mesmerizing human, with everything in balance. Respect!

back after several months. it doesn't feel as djenty as skyharbor did before and yet i get the impression that they weren't focefully trying to get into the 'label'. more like they went with the flow. more soft parts, which is not necessarily bad. quite the contrary - it's awesome. however. as much as i hate admiting this - my passion for this album was temporal. nevertheless, this release is worth buying.

Patience is gorgeous. Allure is a great moving track. Decent album with some standout songs.

Heard a few tracks like New Devil recently...this is actually pretty good. I just had to alter my expectations a bit, it's more subtle than the big dynamics on the first album. It's definitely not djent anymore, but I think we can all agree that the tone is becoming pretty overdone. I can understand why they shifted direction. Hit/miss, but it's good experimentation...predicting that it'll be a transition album of sorts.

I think the main problem with Guiding Lights is, that, although this genre they are in (djent/modern prog) was mostly listened by teenagers for couple of years, Guiding Lights is an album that is directed to old farts like me nearing their 30s'. You can feel the Tompkins influence on this one - overall - this is old men progressive rock n roll - full of thoughts, reconsiderations, thinking about life - change of direction from BWN. I love it thou.

Yeah getting kind of sick of all the forced spoken word samples in all these prog metal releases. It is done WAY better in the end section of Guiding Light and middle part of Kaikoma though! Really drags you in the ambience.

The stuff I've heard from the new album seem like they went overly ambient...Uneven Structure comes to mind. I'll get around to Guiding Lights after breaking in Bloodstone & Diamonds, though.

the spoken track on Halogen is terrible and annoying... ruined my first listen. haha. at least separate that shit.

It's missing the strong choruses from Blinding White Noise, and those epic moments like in the songs "Celestial" or "Aurora". None of the new songs stand out like that.... "Miracle" is pretty good though.
