Skyline Sketch are an acoustic folk group made up of two married couples: Russ & Kate Luscombe, and Joe & Nikki Davison. Russ is originally from Watford, but spent some time growing up in the North West, where he and Joe met and became best friends at the age of 12. They went their separate ways for university - Russ to Bournemouth and Joe to Warwick- but stayed in close contact. Russ met Kate, a Sutton girl born and bred, at a gig in 2006, and they started writing music together and gigging as Skyline Sketch, then a folk duo. They and married in 2009 and live in Sutton. Joe and Nikki met at university in 2006, and they moved to South West London after graduating to be near Russ & Kate. They also got married in 2009 and joined Skyline Sketch, making the duo a quartet.
Inspired by the likes of Mark Kozelek, Damien Rice, Denison Witmer, & Scott Matthews, Skyline Sketch's mix of close harmonies, guitar, ukulele, woodwind, light percussion and poetry results in some beautiful chilled alternative folk music.
They are often accompanied by Toby Pestridge (bass), Charlotte Eksteen (cello) and James Underwood (violin) and their debut single Stay Away Tomorrow includes a beautiful arrangement for string quartet.
They are currently working on their debut album A Line From Me To You , which will include their recently released debut single Stay Away Tomorrow as well as the second track on the single Leave Your Shoes At The Door.
