The main role Slet bubeníků (THE GATHERING OF DRUMMERS) in 2008 could have Japanese Taiko drum. Pavel Fajt, a leading artistic spirit of the project, explains the concept: "After a long collaboration with Japanese singer Yumiko, known mainly from Tokyo techno scene, I became interested in her musical and social background, and I like this time to bring more of the musical world and tradition from which it originates. I also attracted a certain ritualism of traditional Japanese music, which can be connected with European classical instrumentation and its severity." After three years of African-Caribbean-style, which to dominated djembe and congas, the sound could come closer to the percussion instruments, which belong to our traditions as the timpani, gongs, sets of tomtoms, vibraphone, tuned drums and more. Everything will be supported by drumms, percussions, electronics and industrial sounds.
Pavel Fajt states: "It is a challenge to build rhythmic and dnace music with instruments that are used in other areas of music." Total two tons are expected on stage - drums kits, cimbals, many ethnic drums and electronics, as well as human voices, gongs, percussions, and barels above the traditional Japanese percussive instrument "Taiko".
