I compare this to Pygmalion. Transformative for their sound and as impactful as Just for a Day.

It is not a 10/10 album, it has some flaws, but the general vibe is great and the the album itself is very pleasant

Really don't think it's as bad as some here (and especially on rateyourmusic) make it out to be. If you go in expecting a Souvlaki 2.0, you obviously gonna have a bad time. Souvlaki is almost 30 years old at this point, of course it's not gonna sound like it. I definitely prefer this one over the S/T album, it has some really great tunes and a nice ethereal feeling to it, while definitely feeling a bit more positive. A couple slow burners here that will surely grow on me and some really amazing tracks as well. A nice addition to their discrography.

Probably the most psychedelic album by slowdive. It's like living a hallucinogenic experience.

Definition of a grower, not a shower. In my top ten of the year along with Julie Byrne, Ratboys, Yo La Tengo, Fever Ray, Susanne Sundfør and PJ Harvey.

at first i didn't like this but it's growing on me. It might not be close to their 90s works in terms of greatness, and tbh they kinda sound like every modern shoegaze band, but it's still very awesome and worth many many listens. thank you slowdive <3

unbelievable stuff. It seemed impossible to get something like self titled release, but they somehow managed to do it once again. Love it. Andalucia Plays - oh my god...

not only that but... is it just me or do most songs here just cowardly end with an unceremonious quick fade out?

I know, but I don't remember those being so quick and sudden. almost every fade out on this album feels like it happens mid-song and they they're super short

Easily top 5 of the year for me. It's a more mature Slowdive in both sound and style.
