Biography
Aterciopelados excist since the early 90´s. When Andrea Echeverri (singer/guitar) meets Hector Buitrago in Bogota (Colombia). They decide to start a band named Delia y los Aminoacido, but decide later to change it too Aterciopelados. Hector has a background as guitar player in a hardrock band named La Pestilencia while Andrea grows up in the environment of the Art Academy. Hector is influed by Led Zepplin, Deep Purple, Yes and Richie Rey. Andrea, with her hippy like alternative look, makes the performences look lively.
Hector writes most songs and learns to play base guitar himself.
