Biography

Formed c. 2003 by guitarist David Lord and bassist Sean Fanning, Solagget’s unique vision for instrumental rock came to fruition in 2004 when drummer Aaron Fanning (twin brother of the bassist Sean) joined the fold. The trio garnered a reputation as one of the most exciting live bands in its home base of Wichita, Kansas and its 2005 album The Delivery was hailed as a classic upon its release. Filled with appropriately sunny guitar lines (Solagget means “sun egg” in Swedish) from Lord, and propelled by the unbeatable rhythm section of Fanning and Fanning, this trio bridges the gap between Pat Metheny’s work with Bob Moses and Jaco Pastorius on the 1976 release Bright Size Life and the highly imaginative work of Tortoise and The Sea and Cake.
