Solveig Sandnes (1973 - 2018) was a Danish pop singer.
After her success with another Danish band called Lovebites, Solveig's debut solo CD entitled Analog, which was released in 1999, featured her polished silky voice and music akin to bands like The Cardigans. Her single "Marie" did very well on the Japanese and Southeast Asian pop charts during the summer of 1999. Marie was written about Solveig's sister and has a catchy radio melody. In 2000, Solveig released the follow up to Analog, Vagabond Squaw, which was released in Japan under Victor Entertainment.
Solveig Sandnes died on 16 April 2018 after a 12 year struggle with breast cancer.
