Toronto-based FADO singer, Sonia Tavares quickly discovered her passion for music at a very early age. As a classically trained pianist and vocalist born to Portuguese parents, she was immersed in the traditional sounds of her cultural roots since infancy. However, it wasn't until her mid teens that she was introduced to "Canção do Mar" as recorded by international world artist Dulce Pontes.
