I'm not super happy about how guitars sounds or in general got mixed here...willingly or not, sometimes sounds too keyboard-like to me... as a consequence muddled with the keyboard sounds too, I don't know. Besides that, I think creatively they are way better than recent Dream Theaters (though I'm not sure this is more their merit or a DT demerit...the second I'm afraid). Plus Soto. The guy never ever made a false step, every single project he touched, always quality stuff. But actually who really amazes me (again) is the epic Billy Sheehan...the guy must be something like 65 and technically comes from a rock-fusion-funk background...nonetheless he got a call one morning asking - what about playing in some prog-metal thing with Portnoy/Bumblefoot/Sherinian/Soto not exactly the slow kids in the class... - sure, no prob dude, let me catch my bass and I'll come down. I guess he didn't even flinched for a split second... XD

I have to say, I wasn't initially impressed on my first listen (although I was doing some other work at the time and didn't get a chance to truly listen to it), but I am liking it more and more with each spin. I loved God of the Sun right at the outset, and I enjoyed Signs of the Time from when it was first released (epic guitar solo). The others are growing on me though.
