S.K. from Barber Shop MC’s has returned to the Los Angeles Underground after a long hiatus to receive his bachelor’s degree from College. S.K., which stands for Soul King, started his love for Hip Hop music at 10 years old. His official start was with the Barber Shop MC’s in 1991 when the crew was formed. Barber Shop Emcees was introduced to the world on the Sway & Tech “Wake up-Show where they met the Likwit Crew ( Liks & Xzibit) from their amazing freestyle skills. Barber Shop Mcz performed at local shows in Los Angeles with the Likwit Crew at various venues such as House Of Blues, Unity, Club Mental, UCLA Campus, Cal State Northridge, USC Campus, Santa Monica College, St. Mary’s, etc…
S.K. was released officially on Defari Heru single“Blast” &Barber Shop then released EP in 1999 New Era featuring Xzibit. S.K made his returned to music through incredible producer & MC Jay Delph who also is a member of the Barber Shop and who released mixtapes featuring S.K. Now Soul King plans to release Mixtape “Supreme Era Series" be on the lookout for the artist who will change Hip Hop.
Soul King major influences are Rakim, Nas, Biggie,Tupac, Jay Z….Supreme Era is the era where the Godz will take back Hip Hop. Look out for Tabernacle MCZ & others….Peace
