Biography
When guitars rage, vocals roar, smoke is packed together densely in the air, the floor sticks as much of beer as YOU do, and people party in an atmosphere that is indescribable, you know you’ve caught Suddenly Cult at its best.
Originating in the fall of 2000 in the south of the Netherlands, Suddenly Cult is a live rock band in pura forma. The band’s catchy, melodic rock songs with a melancholic, nostalgic flavor to them, create a style that is fresh and innovative, but still easy to listen to. All these elements make the band sound very “un-dutch”, in fact rather international. Their performances are as steaming as they are enthusiastic, as loud as they are sensitive and intimate.
After lots of gigs, a year of song writing experience, and with quite a few strong songs in their repertoire, the band subscribed to a national band contest called Stagemasters, an initiative from the newly founded New Road Music label. This proved to be a great success. After months of intensive rehearsing and performing, the preliminary rounds, semi final and final ended in victory.
Through Stagemasters Suddenly Cult came into contact with several record companies, and has had lots of gigs since then. Ultimately, the band decided to sign to Dutch label MCP Records. The band is now fully occupied with the preparations for their debut release in 2004!
In the meantime Suddenly Cult has had some airplay on national radio (3fm), and critics were very positive!
Despite the bands short life (3 years in 2004), they’ve been through quite a struggle, resulting in the departure of two band members throughout the years. But with lots of things to look forward to and with a clear goal in the back of their heads, the band is now stronger and louder than ever. With a mixture of some talent and LOTS OF F*CKING HARD WORK, they WILL be heard!!

Om er maar niet omheen te draaien: Suddenly Cult is 'officieel' uit elkaar. De meesten van jullie zullen het hopelijk al via via gehoord hebben, of het in ieder geval hebben vermoed. Ik zou een urenlang betoog kunnen houden over het waarom, hoe en wanneer, maar dat maakt allemaal niks uit. In plaats daarvan wil ik IEDEREEN die ons de afgelopen jaren gesteund heeft namens de bandleden van nu en die van vroeger bedanken! Zonder jullie steun hadden we ons maar het zoveelste bandje gevoeld, maar door jullie voelden we ons speciaal, en hadden we de kracht om ervoor te gaan.
Ik denk dat we als band terug kunnen kijken op 5 geweldige muzikale jaren, waarin volgens mij de belangrijkste les was wat het is om in een band te spelen en de boel draaiende proberen te houden. En dat lukte dan ook niet altijd. Soms was het ploeteren en verwenste je die hele band en alle tijd die je erin had gestoken… Maar soms, eigenlijk meestal, of zelfs bijna altijd, was het geweldig.
Nu het voorbij is hebben we de draad weer opgepikt: Noud is volop met Solid bezig en ik zit zelf op dit moment te werken aan een solo-album! Gino is op dit moment aan het herstellen van wat hopelijk de laatste operatie aan zijn been was, en gaat waarschijnlijk weer veel sneller dan we verwachten ook weer knallen!
