Suspire are an indie/alternative rock ‘n’ roll trio from Glasgow, Scotland. Three-piece since 2008 with a past of various line-ups. Supported the likes of Shonen Knife (Kurt Cobain’s favourite band), XSM, Dutch Uncles, Cosmic Rough Riders’ front-man Daniel Wylie and RM Hubbert. Played festivals including RockNess and EIFF 2010/11, and recently joined The View and Kassidy to play the Kilmarnock Edition Festival – Feb 2012.
The latest single, ‘Salvation Sister’ - produced by Echo and The Bunnymen guitarist, Gordy Goudie, outsold Bjork *Martha Wainwright (*feat. artist on track) and Josh Osho as a same-week release in the UK Charts (Sep 2011). Salvation Sister also won an award for “best alternative/indie recording of the year” at the SNMAs.
New single, ‘Get Yourself Together’ is due for release in Feb/March 2012 – also seeing production from Gordy Goudie.
Internationally, the band have toured briefly in France (2009), USA and Canada (2011).
Primetime radio airplay gained in Washington D.C. (2011) and San Francisco (Pacific FM, 2011). UK radio airplay gained on Jim Gellatly’s Clyde 1 show, Amazing Radio, Radio Six International, Salford City FM, Dune FM and Pulse FM.
