Biography
Svenska was a hardcore punk band from Chelmsford, Massachusetts. Formed in 2003 under the name "The Fuzz", they origionally took influence from bands such such as Anti-Flag and The Casualties. After a short hiatus in 2004, they reformed in early 2005 and released the "Pledge This" EP on CD-R. Only a few monthes after after this release, the band had a dramatic style change and thought best to change their name to Svenska. Now influenced by the likes of DS-13 and locals such as The Struggle, the band released a demo that summer entitled "The Aids". The demo included two rerecorded songs off of the "Pledge This" EP as well as a handfull of new material which was in a more hardcore vein. Finally, in the Fall of 2005 the band released a final set of recordings entitled "Live Demo". This release had a few rerecorded tracks from "The Aids" as well as many new songs. The new songs had a strong power violence influence. The Band played their last show in October, 2005. Svenska, accompanied by Civil Crisis and Complete Shit, was part of the young hardcore punk movement in Chelmsford that erupted in 2004.
