Gill played in a band called Fear of Flying.

Taist of Iron came back in 2012 with Gill back on vocals and Glabe back on bass. Tom Cleeves (drums) and Steve Gale (guitars) joined the band to complete the lineup. This lineup lasted until 2017, because Gale passed away that year. He was replaced by guitarist Steve Stefanowicz in the year Gale passed away. The new lineup with Stefanowicz is now the current lineup and they released the second Taist of Iron album called Taist of Iron. This was released independently through their own record label in 2017. They are currently signed to Skol Records.
