Biography
Taylor Long is an up-and-coming composer and sound designer for film, television and new media. His music has been featured on projects like Resident Evil: Afterlife, Let Me In, Red Riding Hood, Case 39, 20th Century Fox’s – Predators, Skyline, Fox’s – So You Think You Can Dance and MTV’s The Real World. Fusing cinematic instrumentation, designed sounds, and other unconventional techniques, Taylor is able to utilize a diverse musical background to create his own unique sound.
From his humble beginnings as a drummer in Seattle-area rock, jazz, and trip-hop bands to an in demand electronic music producer, Taylor’s musical reach has covered the globe. With numerous vinyl and CD releases and radio play on programs, such as the BBC’s 1Xtra and Channel 4′s New Music with Tom Ravenscroft, his music stylings pool from a long, diverse background spanning many influences. Graduating with a degree in audio engineering, Taylor’s understanding of past and present music production techniques have proven invaluable in his chosen craft and he continues to push the boundaries of the audible arts.
In 2010, Taylor was accepted to the Tilden House, set up by composer Christopher Young for aspiring composers and musicians and is currently living and working in Los Angeles, CA.
