I completely agree with MiserandusKun my personal favorite album from Bowie is Heroes, it was one of the vinyl that my grandma had of Bowie and a couple days after she died I remember putting the vinyl into my player and it was magical, loved Bowie ever since.

it's still one of the things I can't wrap my head around. if they want more tax money, you'd think they wouldn't make it near impossible to become a naturalized citizen. moreover, the 'taxation without representation' precepts being casually ignored with the district of columbia and puerto rico. the electoral college itself is a very odd concept with a first-past-the-post system. you'd think they would've refurbished it to have representatives be proportional to reflect the popular vote, but the current system is just a fertile ground for gerrymandering.

The thing of it is, the government spends more money than they get and then they want more. While debt keeps piling up they need to keep tax rates going up to cover borrowed costs. Its insane in Illinois. Governor bailed out Rivian and the company is still underwater so it seems. Government is good with spending money but they're terrible in saving it. They don't even try to cut costs anymore. People end up being slaves to debt as they're spending more than they make. I'm Gen X and i still haven't saved enough for retirement. Of course living in Illinois where they raise property taxes so high you can't afford to move to a better place and be able to find a new job.
